Second Guessing The Blessing Have you ever prayed for something, received it, and then started questioning it? Sometimes we know God has blessed us, yet we still doubt His plan. We ask questions like, "Is this really God's will?""Did God really answer my prayer?" or "Will this blessing last?" While we often think doubt comes before the blessing, many times it arrives after God has already provided the answer. In this message, we examine the account of Thomas in John chapter 20 and discover the dangers of second guessing what God has already done. Thomas knew who Jesus was, yet he doubted what had already taken place. Many believers find themselves doing the same thing today. This message challenges us not to discredit the blessing, overlook the blessing, miss out on the blessing, or forget the One who gave the blessing. God's blessings do not always come in the package we expected, but they are blessings nonetheless. Mary looked directly at Jesus and did not recognize Him. Thomas doubted until he saw. Nine lepers received their healing and walked away, but only one returned to thank the Lord. The question is not whether God is blessing us—the question is whether we recognize it. This message is preached by Blake Faircloth, host of Frontline Faith, a Bible-believing and Bible-preaching podcast standing firmly on the 1611 King James Bible and centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Gospel – Romans Road to Salvation (KJV) Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 10:9–10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:13 "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Disclaimer: I do not own the rights to some of the music included in this recording.
