Descripción

Welcome to Full of Wind, a podcast connecting two hemispheres of sport … from two very windy cities. Every month, Sam Brief (from the Northern Hemisphere) and Justin Nelson (from the Southern Hemisphere) debate, discuss and question the business, culture and future of sport. What can each side of the world learn from the other? Let's dive in. Sam Brief (based in Chicago, Illinois, USA, "The Windy City") Sam Brief is a broadcaster, podcaster, media relations professional and three-point specialist (depending on who you ask). Brief is the play-by-play voice of the Chicago Dogs professional baseball team and broadcasts for the Windy City Bulls of the NBA G League, as well as college athletics and more. Justin Nelson (based in Wellington, New Zealand, the actual windiest city in the world) is a Melbourne native who comes with 30+ years of experience in sports broadcasting, commercial, marketing and management across a variety of sports including Basketball, AFL, Football and Motorsport in Australia and New Zealand. He's now the Head of Commercial & Events at Sky New Zealand. In the first episode, Sam and Justin dive into: * What March Madness taught us about the future of women's basketball * How baseball and Aussie rules football can truly go global * Justin's crazy (awesome) idea for New Zealand basketball * How the NBA should re-work the in-season tournament concept Full of Wind is produced by Sam Brief, and music is courtesy of David Brief and Channel J.

Episode 2: NBA Playoffs, How to tank 101, Basketball Australia said WHAT?! Plus, who will win the Premier League in Ted Lasso?

In the second edition of Full of Wind, Justin Nelson (@GMJustinNelson [https://twitter.com/GMJustinNelson]) cheats by joining from Auckland, New Zealand instead of Wellington. Sam Brief (@sambrief [https://twitter.com/sambrief]) checks in from Chicago. Sam and Justin dive all-in on basketball in this episode, ranging from the NBA Playoffs to Basketball Australia’s controversial “no noise during free throws” rule for the Under-18 Australian Championships. They debate tanking in the NBA and explain just how far they’d be willing to go to secure French phenom Victor Wembanyama on their team. The duo finishes off with some Ted Lasso predictions — and a message to BELIEVE. — About Full of Wind: Every month, Sam Brief (from the Northern Hemisphere) and Justin Nelson (from the Southern Hemisphere) debate, discuss and question the business, culture and future of sport.
