Glorious Hope | Studies in Revelation
The book of Revelation is the pulling back of the curtain so that we can see what the future of God's people will be. This revelation is our glorious hope as we look to Jesus in these days of tribulation and know for sure he is coming back to take us home. This bonus episode is recorded at our weekly Midweek meeting, where Rev David McCullagh beings the first of the deeper dives into the book. Beginning with the context into which the Revelation comes helps us to understand the purpose of this book and how to interpret it through the eyes of first century Christians. The vision of Revelation is given tot he Apostle John on the prison island of Patmos, where he is a prisoner for his faith in Christ. He knows the Roman world around him and its influences and this is seen in how certain images are presented to him. Ultimately the book of Revelation is about the risen Lord Jesus Christ and it is through him that we understand the pastoral meaning of this last book of the Bible.
