sitting with strangers
There’s a moment when everything on the outside seems to work, yet something on the inside keeps whispering, Is this it? I’m Lauren, and Sitting With Strangers is built for that moment, the one where you you just want to tell the truth without someone trying to fix you. I take you back to Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health, where a simple talk circle created a kind of connection I didn’t know I needed. I sat across from a stranger who had spent his life as a fisherman off the coast of Boston, carrying years of regret about missed birthdays and lost relationships with his kids. His honesty cracked something open, and it gave me permission to say what I had been hiding in my own tender postpartum season: I was struggling with motherhood, and I didn’t know how much of my choice was desire versus expectation. From that exchange, human room was born, an intentional space shaped by emotional intelligence, community healing, and one core belief: speaking truth can lighten what we carry. We talk about why so many emotionally aware people still feel lonely, why advice can be the wrong reflex, and how presence can be more powerful than strategy. You’ll also get gentle questions to sit with when you want more meaning, more aliveness, and more honesty inside the life you’ve already built. If this lands, subscribe, share it with someone carrying quiet questions, and leave a review so more people can find this kind of honest space.
