Good Melanated Morning, Black America! On today’s episode we’re talking about: * All We Do is Talk of Tariffs: Trump Relents, Gives Tech Imports a Break * The House Passes Controversial Voting Bill Amid Concerns of Disenfranchisement * Where is He? Trump 2.0 Faces Backlash for Refusing to Bring Kilmar Abrego Garcia Home * This $10 Blood Test Could Reduce Your Risk of a Heart Attack * Newly Released Game South of Midnight Faces Backlash from Gamers who Can’t Imagine Anything that Doesn’t Center Them * It’s a Black Fact: The Life of Benjamin Montgomery THINGS TO REMEMBER FROM THE EP: It’s Black Maternal Health Week. This annual campaign, led by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance, aims to raise awareness about the disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black women in America. The disproportionately high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among Black women remain a critical concern, with Black women still 2-3 times to die during or shortly after childbirth. Please check on the pregnant women in your life and offer support where possible. Ask your doctor to test your troponin levels at your next appointment. Knowing your risk could help you limit your chance of a heart attack or stroke. Hear that sound? It’s your smoke detector battery. Beyond the stereotype that’s become prevalent on social media, it’s important to make sure your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly. Lives depend on it. Change them today and set a reminder to change them at least once a year. What’s Up Next Join us for our first GMM Reads pick!
