Descripción

Catherine Mattice is the founder of Civility Partners, a full-service HR consulting firm partnering with organizations across the globe to help build positive and respectful cultures and turn around toxic cultures. Catherine is also an international speaker and author and is now a course instructor for LinkedIn. In this episode, Catherine offers valuable leadership and workplace culture advice. Something I found really interesting was how willing a leader can be to change their style - or not. An enormous part of leadership is self awareness and no matter how good someone is at generating results, I believe no company can afford the long-term costs of a toxic culture driven by an abrasive leader. When I first stepped into leadership, I was so focused on results that I was that abrasive leader. A lot of what Catherine talks about, I could see my younger self in. Catherine's work is so important, and her message in the podcast is one all managers and leaders should hear.

Brian Sachetta joins the podcast in Episode 21, discussing his personal experiences with Anxiety and the systematic, external approach he takes to managing, drawing on his computer engineering background. An 'External approach' is the cornerstone of Brian's brand and book series 'Get out of your head.' Brian explains the importance of stepping outside your head when managing Anxiety and frames anxiety and depression from his personal experience and vantage point. Brian's firsthand account from the Academy of Life offers a real-world lens to explore the challenges and possible management tools required when experiencing anxiety and depression. Tools such as Brian's ten steps to getting out of your head from his first book.
