Hearts Wide Open
We're so excited to finally be back with you! We tried using some microphones where we both could sit a little more distant and we THOUGHT it sounded good, until I got home to edit only to hear the sound wasn't what we're use to. So sorry, bear with us for a few more episodes and then we'll be back to normal! In this episode, we dive into James Chapter 4 and unpack the hidden struggles so many of us quietly carry comparison, envy, pride, hyper-independence, and the exhausting pressure to hold everything together on our own. We talk honestly about what happens when we stop practicing gratitude and start focusing on what we lack, why asking God for help (and sometimes asking other people for help) can feel so hard, and how pride often hides in places we least expect it. From motherhood and overwhelm to confession, surrender, and trusting God’s timing, this chapter reminds us that true peace doesn’t come from controlling everything — it comes from drawing near to God and letting Him meet us in the middle of the mess. In this episode we reflect on: * Comparison vs. gratitude * Hyper-independence and hidden pride * Why God’s grace meets us in surrender * Confession, healing, and examining our hearts * Trusting God when life feels uncertain * Using our gifts for His glory, not our own We close with practical reflection questions to help you ponder where God may be inviting you to let go, trust deeper, and receive His peace.
