Held with Carissa Dahl
Life doesn’t pause for caregiving, and it definitely doesn’t pause when mom gets sick. I’m showing up with a scratchy voice and an honest story because I know how many of us are running on empty while still managing meds, meals, school, appointments, and the nonstop mental load that comes with parenting and disability caregiving. I also share a real-time glimpse into the stress of advocating for what our kids need, including the frustration of insurance denial of my son's necessary orthotics. Then we get practical. I walk through five simple, things you can do right now to lighten the load right now: focus on the next thing instead of the whole week, lower the bar without guilt, take one thing off your plate, let “good enough” count, and receive help even when it’s uncomfortable. These may seem small, but they can reduce overwhelm, protect your energy, and help you keep moving through a season of exhaustion. We share the Scripture Isaiah 40:29: God gives strength to the weary and power to the weak. If you feel behind, exhausted, or like you’re barely keeping your head above water, I want you to hear this clearly from me: you are not failing, you are carrying a lot, and you are not alone. If this encouraged you, subscribe so you don’t miss what’s next, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a review so more caregivers can find support. You are not alone. You are seen. You are held. And you can keep going...just take the next step. And if you want a little more encouragement in your everyday life, you can find me on Instagram at @carissamdahl [https://www.instagram.com/carissamdahl/]
