I recorded this in my car instead of going into work. Part of the reason I love sharing about The Revivalists so much is because…I genuinely love them. But also because it’s really easy for me to be sarcastic and cynical about most things. Expressing joy can feel more terrifying than expressing pain. I’m learning that my biggest hangup with vulnerability lives there—having the courage to love things openly. On their website, the lead singer says: “This band is one of the biggest representations of love in my life. It’s love personified.” As a fan, I experience them as love personified. Their concerts feel like standing inside a container of joy. And when you let music move you like that, it will shift you. So…more live music? And maybe a groupie yoga tour whenever they announce their next one. (I’m only half kidding.)
