Descripción

Pslams 23 Week 5. You don’t always feel safe following Jesus, but feeling safe and being safe are two different things. In this message from Psalm 23:5, we walk through 4 things God wants you to know so you can stop waiting on the cliff and jump: you’re fed, you’re gated, you’re anointed, and you’re quenched. Walk by faith, not by feelings. housechurchkauai.com This is a public episode. It's Just a Shadow

In Psalm 23:4, David shifts from talking *about* God to talking *to* God — and shows us how to walk through the darkest seasons of life without fear. Pastor Alex Wilson teaches that death hit Jesus on the cross so that for the believer, what's left is only a shadow. Whether you're in a season of grief, anxiety, broken relationships, financial stress, or spiritual darkness, this message will remind you that our God is not distant. He is the God of the valley — the One who steps off the mountain and walks with His sheep through every shadow.Topics covered:- Why Christianity is not a prosperity gospel- The omnipresence of God in dark seasons- The meaning of the shepherd's rod and staff- How the cross changes the way God deals with us- Why God *wants* to be with you in the mess—House Church Kauai is a family-integrated church gathering in a garage on Kauai, Hawaii and Pastor by Alex Wilson of AMEN PODCAST. We believe the local church gathers around the Word of God: expository preaching, family worship, and genuine community. How to Actually Rest

You’re not resting because you’re hungry, hunted, anxious, or afraid — and you can’t fix any of those on your own. In part two of our series through Psalm 23, we slow down on a single line: “He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.” Drawing from Philip Keller’s A Shepherd Looks at Psalm 23, we look at the four things a sheep needs before it will lie down — food, freedom from foes, freedom from flies, and freedom from fear — and how each one points us straight to Christ. We’ll talk about why sheep can’t find pasture on their own, why Jesus called Himself “the door of the sheep” in John 10, and what the nose botfly has to do with the anxieties you didn’t ask for and can’t shake. We’ll see how Hebrews 2:14–15 promises freedom from the fear of death, and why rest isn’t something you achieve — it’s somewhere the Shepherd leads you. On the cross, Jesus entered our unrest so we could enter His rest. If you’re tired, this one’s for you. Filmed from the garage at House Church Kauai. How to Lack Nothing | Alex Wilson

The Lord is My Shepherd, I Shall Not Want | Psalm 23:1 | How to Lack Nothing Welcome back to House Church. Today we’re starting a brand new series walking verse-by-verse through Psalm 23, the most well-known passage in all of Scripture. In this opening message, Pastor Alex unpacks Psalm 23:1 and gives you four steps to lacking nothing. We live in a generation that is constantly scrolling, comparing, and chasing more. But David says something radical: “The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.” How do we get to a place where we can honestly say we have all that we need? In this sermon, you’ll learn: * Realize you are a sheep (Isaiah 53:6) * Fear the Lord (Psalm 34:9, Proverbs 1:7) * Deny deficiency (Genesis 48:15-16) * Rest on Him (Luke 15:5) You’ll also discover why God, the most powerful being in all creation, refers to Himself as a Shepherd, the lowest job in ancient society. Spoiler: He’s powerful, He’s personal, and He’s present. If you’ve ever felt like you’re lacking something, that everyone else has what you don’t, or that God has somehow forgotten about you, this message is for you.
