Descripción

My guest this episode is Dr. Julia Gamble. Dr. Gamble is a bioarchaeologist, which combines the study of biological anthropology and archaeology together. In our conversation, we speak about why anthropologists are interested in studying teeth. As well as how our dental enamel is similar to tree rings in the way it stores indicators of stress in our early life experiences. Music by Purple Planet. Episode 8: Interview with Kayla Shaganash

On the final episode of the series, I get to interview my fellow classmate Kayla Shaganash who is a 4th year undergrad student doing a double major in Anthropology and Indigenous Studies at the University of Manitoba. We speak about Kayla's experience of being a 2022 Undergrad Research Reward recipient and her future plans of doing archaeological research in Manitoba. Kayla also talks about the role that truth and reconciliation has in her studies, and her continued interest in helping Indigenous students remain connected to their culture on campus as the co-cultural coordinator for UMISA (UofM Indigenous Student Association).
