I NEED A MIC: OPEN MIC POETRY

I’ve been sitting with this moment for a while, and it still doesn’t feel real. This experience was a long time coming—something I’ve dreamed about since I was young—and I’m beyond grateful I finally got to live it. Being able to host and perform at this event meant more to me than I can fully put into words. Huge thank you to the Solano Art Council for trusting me with the space and giving me the opportunity to bring this vision to life. This is definitely something I want to do again. I originally planned to record the entire event, but ran into some technical issues with my camcorder, so I only captured two performances. Still, I’m excited to share these moments with you—including a couple of new poems that haven’t been recorded before. More content is on the way, so stay tuned. This is just the beginning.
