At first, I spoke with a receptionist, but eventually, I was told I needed to talk to Charlotte Wilson, one of their employees. From the moment I sat down, I made it clear—I was there to talk about how I was being treated at Haven Homes, specifically by Rose, the property manager. I told Charlotte everything. Rose had been falsifying noise complaints to get me evicted—all because I confronted her about a late fee that wasn’t even my fault. How It All Started: Family Promise’s Retaliation 🚨 To understand why I even had that late fee, let’s back up. I was in the rapid rehousing program run by Family Promise, but they kicked me out because I held them accountable. At my previous place, The Barlow, I had serious issues: ✅ Windows that wouldn’t lock – meaning I didn’t feel safe. ✅ A maintenance man harassing me – making me feel even more unsafe. I spoke up about these issues, but instead of fixing them, Family Promise retaliated. They removed me from the program and refused to pay my rent, which led to the late fee on my account. Rose’s Retaliation: Using Fake Noise Complaints to Force Me Out 🏠🚫 Now, back to Haven Homes. After Family Promise’s retaliation, Rose decided to pile on the harassment. And what did she do? Played the victim. She acted like I was wrong for calling her out on her retaliation. On April 30, 2024, I was directed by Charlotte Wilson to return to Haven Homes to have a conversation with Nina Robinson, who was the Vice President of Real America at the time. I was hoping for a real discussion about the false noise complaints being used to push me out—but what I got instead was gaslighting, blame-shifting, and zero accountability. In this episode, I break down my conversation with Nina, where I: 🚩 Called out Rose’s blatant disrespect toward me as a resident. 🔍 Demanded actual proof of the noise complaints before accepting any write-ups. 🤝 Asked for mediation, only to be told I just had to “deal with it.” 🏡 Was pressured to say I wanted to move out, despite not having the resources to do so.
