Descripción

The wedding industry ain't all that it's cracked up to be. The people pleasing needs to stop. The hopefulness of love and excitement of the future need to become our focus again. Weddings used to be planned from a book of limited options, and you were happy with what you got. Now it's turned into who can come up with the next "it" thing. Who designed it better, had the "better" photographer, came up with the most creative favors, threw the "BEST" party... and who achieved "perfection". Brittany Newman is a wedding planner and designer who first joined the wedding industry with the optimism that most wedding creatives have as they jump in with both feet -- and it took numerous moments of drastic impact in her life to make her realize that she didn't want to be living it this way anymore. So rather than quit, she started getting curious about why we think the way that we think and why we do what we do. Join Brittany as she welcomes guests on the show from all different facets of the wedding industry, and talks about the one topic that we all need most when planning one of the biggest events in our lifetime-- mental health. Boundaries, expectations, trigger points, and nervous system responses are just a few of the many topics that all come up during the planning process AND on the wedding day. Brittany will also be starting an advice column day where she answers a variety of questions from anonymous vendors and couples planning their wedding. And the fun won't stop there. Weddings are one of the most heartfelt and memorable days of our lives. They lay a foundation for all of the love and small celebrations to come-- if we let them. It's time we stop getting caught up in the world of comparison and validation and start remembering who we are at the core and what brings us joy in the first place-- love and belonging.
