Michael Edwards is a highly decorated U.S. Army Ranger who served with the elite Tier 1 Ranger Reconnaissance Detachment and alongside CIA Omega Teams during combat operations in Afghanistan. During the Battle of Tal Afar in Iraq, he earned the Silver Star for extraordinary bravery after charging into an insurgent stronghold and shielding his teammates from a grenade blast. Edwards completed multiple combat deployments throughout his career. He concluded his service as the Detachment NCOIC of the Free Fall Parachutist Course, NCOIC of the Jumpmaster Course, and as an instructor for the Instructor Course, retiring in March 2019.
