I Go By Life Karen - It's Never Too Late
For years, I thought working out meant one thing: getting on the treadmill. After losing 120 pounds with the help of GLP-1 medications, I realized my body needed more than cardio. As I got older and learned more about the importance of maintaining muscle, strength training, flexibility, mobility, and balance became much bigger priorities. In this episode, I’m sharing how I started working out, how I became more comfortable in the gym, and what my fitness routine looks like today. I talk about starting with basic gym machines, building an upper body and lower body plan, increasing weights over time, and slowly getting brave enough to try new things. I also share how I started taking fitness classes, why I contacted instructors ahead of time, how I began in the back of the room, and how I eventually became confident enough to move toward the front. This episode is for anyone who feels intimidated by the gym, unsure where to start, or like they are starting over with fitness later in life. I’m not a fitness expert — I’m just sharing what has helped me build strength, confidence, and a routine that works for my life now.
