This episode wraps up Season 1. it's the end of the Fall Semester and a small number of Seniors are getting ready to graduate. Join me as I chat to Michael, a graduating senior in the PR program; Alexis, a graduating senior in the Advertising program who is Minoring in Journalism; and Giulia, an Advertising Major who has worn many hats during her time in JMC.

Dons are Jammin': Bootcamping with Del Mar High School

This week's episode looks back to Early October when we had the inaugural Journalism class from Del Mar High School visit for a bootcamp. Well, they thought they were having a day out, but they got a bootcamp. We put these kids to work! The Campus tour became a fact finding mission so they could write headlines and teasers later in the day, they experienced print and broadcast and immersed in all the good stuff that we do on the Journalism program. Join me as I chat to their teacher, Jessica Olamit, and three of the students - Sophia, Maya and Luna - who were super stoked about the day. We also touch on a new idea we are launching - an internship scheme where JMC students mentor the J-class at Del Mar over a semester. Is this a pipeline? At the very least it's the start of a great partnership between SJSU and one of our local High Schools.

Belen is a specialist in Branded Content and she brings her inimitable energy to her courses and extra-curriculars. This semester she is coordinating a festival off campus - the San Antonio Festival on the Paseo San Antonio in San Jose - as well as leading the Spartan Ad Club, planning the SAC trip to New York for the Spring, and a brand new Faculty Led Program to Seville, Spain in June - OLÉ! We chat about all these things and the FLP in particular as it';s such an amazing cultural immersion experience for all our Majors, not just Advertising.
