KISS Life: Let's Talk About... Gangs

In the final episode of the series, KISS and Alex Mansuroglu investigate why a rising number of young people are getting involved in gangs. We speak to some of the people around the country working to give them an alternative choice – as well as a teenager who opens up about the struggles of leaving a gang once you’re in one. We talk to a lawyer about the realities of the justice system, and we hear exclusively from the mum of Jaden Moodie, one of the youngest people to lose their life to knife crime in 2019. We also look at the work being done by groups like The Prince’s Trust to help break the cycle of gang crime. KISS Life: Let's Talk About... Body Image

In this podcast, KISS and Daisy Maskell investigate the pressures young people are facing when it comes to body image. In a world where so much focus is placed on appearance, we ask how things like social media and reality TV are impacting on the way young people feel about themselves, and how damaging it can be to compare yourself to others. We hear from one girl who was sacked from her job as a dancer for "being too big", and the self-proclaimed body confidence spreader Chessie King guest stars in the episode. She's encouraging us to 'look behind the filters' and recognise that not everything we see online is realistic. In this podcast, KISS and Andrea Zara investigate the rising levels of mental health issues among students, as teachers and charities tell us they're seeing record numbers of young people who're struggling. We speak to students who've faced struggles at school and uni - as well as the mother of a 15-year-old boy who tragically took his own life whilst revising. We also look at how The Prince's Trust is helping young people find success - even if they didn't get the grades they were aiming for.
