Episode 3: Dante Basco

Prince Zuko, Jake Long: American Dragon, and Rufio.  Dante Basco is a name that will always be mentioned when discussing early pioneering Asian-American actors in the media industry, and I am so glad to dig more into his life and learn that he wants to create as many blueprints as possible to help Filipino-American and all young POCs succeed in the media industry.   Tune in and learn more as I explain more about his struggles, his triumphs as a young actor, and what he has been working on now!  Learning about his life has given me a lot to talk about my thoughts on Avatar, Asian-American representation, and what Dante Basco can teach us in our lives.

With the inauguration of the next US President coming up, the transition of power will involve one of the longest tenured White House Head Chefs, Cristeta Comerford.  She was the first woman, first person of color, and first Filipina to hold that top culinary position!  Her accomplishments and her style of cooking made headlines across the world, however there is so much to learn about how leadership and beliefs.  Join me today to learn how this Filipino-American cultivated her love for food and let's discuss how food has impacted our lives, whether Filipino restaurants will become mainstream, and so much more.

Episode 1: Erik Spoelstra

The Miami Heat made it to the NBA Finals this year and at its helm was Head Coach Erik Spoelstra.  He became the first Asian-American Coach of any major American sports franchise in 2008 and he's still one of the best in the league.  Join me today to learn how this Filipino-American cultivated his love for basketball and reconnected with his Filipino heritage.
