XXXIII Domingo Ordinario Mal 3, 19-20 Salmo 97, 5-6. 7-9a. 9bc 2 Tes 3, 7-12 Lc 21, 5-19 635/5000 En este episodio llegamos a encontrarnos con Jesucristo viniendo de nuevo. No sabemos cuándo ni dónde, sin embargo, no está en nuestra cuenta. Note, la primera lectura del antiguo testamento refleja la lectura del evangelio, en Malaquías habla directamente a Israel advirtiéndoles que se preparen y continúen viviendo la vida de la fe sincera. La segunda lectura nos dice cómo vivió San Pablo esta vida, continuando trabajando y cosechando de la manera más dura. Vivir mientras el sol sale y se pone. No quedarse en el sofá viendo televisión y esperando que llegue ese momento. Esto puede causar que la tentación sea engañada y mirar al "salvador" que es mundano. Not to stay on the couch watching TV and waiting for that time come. This can cause temptation to be decieved and look at "savior" thats wordly. He will come again, do not be afraid...

XXII Domingo Ordinario Eclesiástico (Sirácide) 3, 17-18. 20. 28-29 Salmo 67, 4-5ac. 6-7ab. 10-11 Heb 12, 18-19. 22-24a Lc 14, 1. 7-14 En este episodio, discutimos la virtud que es más difícil de obtener al amar a Cristo y a los demás. Sirach ofrece palabras de sabiduría. Aunque puede ser difícil ponerlo en práctica, la humildad nos ofrece un lugar donde debemos estar ... no en el sentido de "conoce tu lugar", sino más ampliamente hablando con nosotros y nos invita a ser genuinos con nosotros mismos. La persona que es la primera será la última, desciende a ti mismo cuanto más grande puedas ser. Los salmos nos permiten cantar el clamor que a veces queremos clamar, Dios da libertad y riqueza a los cautivos. En la segunda lectura, hay un reflejo de regreso al Éxodo en el cual, en el Monte Sanai, Israel ve las trompetas, los truenos y una voz que les habló directamente. En este punto, el pueblo de Israel designó a Moisés para ser el orador en nombre de Dios. Ahora, en contraste, los creyentes de Cristo ven lo mismo pero desde una perspectiva diferente. Vemos como está escrito en la lectura, Jesús como el mediador, los ángeles y la nueva Jerusalén. La diferencia aquí es la humildad que aquellos que creen en Aquel a quien Él envió para dar su vida por nosotros. In this episode, we discuss the virtue thats hardest to obtain when loving Christ and others. Sirach offers words of wisdom. Though it can be hard to put into practice, humility offers us a place where we are to be.. not in the sense of "know your place" but more broadley speaking to us and invites us to be genuine with ourselves. The person who is first shall be last, lower yourself the greater you may become. The psalms allow us to sing the cry that we at times want to cry out, God gives freedom and wealth to captives. In the second reading, theres a reflection back to Exodus at which point, on Mount Sanai, Israel see's trumpets, thunder, and a voice that spoke to them directly. At this point, the people of Israel appointed Moses to be the speaker on behalf of God. Now, in contrast, believers of Christ see the same but from different persepective. We see as written in the reading, Jesus as the mediator, angels, and the new Jerusalem. The difference here is the humility that those who believe in the One whom He had sent to give His life for our sake. In the Gospel, Jesus gives the pharisees a parable about being seated at the place of Honor at a Wedding. To see oneself exalted versus being self exalted and take the difference in between. It takes humility to see whats in front of you and to know oneself, however Jesus is that mediator to reveal to us our true identity and whats in front of us at the Mass or any (s)Sacrement.

Division en el Pueblo

XX Domingo Ordinario Jer 38, 4-6. 8-10 Salmo 39, 2. 3. 4. 18 Heb 12, 1-4 Jn 10, 27 Lc 12, 49-53 En este episodio, descubrimos división en el antiguo y nuevo testmanente. Como, sabemos que la división puede ir y venir en muchos lugares y situaciones. Puede haber un sentimiento de pérdida y desconfianza. La primera lectura de Jeremías está causando división como profeta y es arrojado a una cisterna por él como un castigo en la separación completa de todos los demás. Sin embargo, la salvación del desierto de la cisterna provino de otros hombres que lo conocieron y extrajeron de la cisterna, que es una forma de pozo. El salmo habla con claridad, y la respuesta resuena con todos nosotros la sensación de ayuda. Señor, date prisa para ayudarme. La segunda lectura de Hebreos, explica dónde nuestra Fe nos anima a mirar hacia arriba y fijar nuestros ojos en Él. En el Evangelio, Lucas explica que Cristo vino a prender fuego al mundo con el bautismo como el sacramento para verlo sufrir en una cruz, disuadiendo su vergüenza, y ha tomado su asiento a la derecha del trono de Dios. In this episode, we discover division in the old and new testmanent. As, we know division can come and go in many places and situations. There can be a feeling of loss and distrust. The first reading Jeremiah is causing division as a prophet and gets thrown into a cistern for him as a punishment in complete seperation from everyone else. However, salvation from the desert of the cistern came from other men who knew him and drew from the cistern, which is form of a well. The psalm speaks clearly, and the response resonates with all of us the sense of help. Lord, hurry up to help me. The second reading of Hebrews, explains where our Faith encourages us to look up and fix our eyes on Him. He who was also in a similar place and more so like Jeremiah in a desert with no help. Christ has shown us endurance in the struggle and we draw that encouragement from the well. The same well, where He said I thirst give me to drink. In the Gospel, Luke explains that Christ came to set the world a fire with Baptism as the Sacrement to see Him as He is suffered on a cross, dispising its shame, AND has take His seat at the right of the throne of God.

XVIII Domingo Ordinario Eclesiastés (Cohélet) 1, 2; 2, 21-23 Salmo 89, 3-4. 5-6. 12-13. 14 y 17 Col 3, 1-5. 9-11 Lc 12, 13-21 En este episodio, revisamos el libro de Eclesiastés. Qohelet, que es el título de alguien que reúne personas, habla de vanidad en las primeras lecturas. Vanidad de vanidades todo es vanidad, o nada de nada. Qohelet habla de trabajo y el trabajo es vanidad, no tiene sentido todo lo que hacemos o creemos, esencialmente diciendo que demuestren que estoy equivocado. Sin embargo, los salmos dicen lo contrario, en eso nos llama a vivir esta vida y Él nos muestra el camino. Para pensar de manera definitiva en lo que está arriba como San Pablo les dice a los colosenses, y matar a las cosas que nos mantienen terrenales lejos de Cristo, ya que somos una nueva creación en Aquel a quien creemos por medio del sacrificio del bautismo. En el Evangelio, existe el clásico combustible de un hermano que desea lo que el otro hermano tiene en su poder. La respuesta de Jesús es interesante "¿Quién me nombró para ser su juez y árbitro?" y continúa la vida es más que posesiones. La parábola reflexiona sobre un hombre rico que tenía más que suficiente y almacenaba cosechas para poder descansar y disfrutar, pero finalmente se olvidó de lo que está arriba. Es familiar, más como un rey en el antiguo testamento que tiene una riqueza increíble y almacenó su riqueza en grandes almacenes. Se había olvidado de las riquezas que le importan a Dios. In this episode, we go through the book of Ecclesiastes. Qohelet, which is the title of someon who gathers people speaks about vanity in the first readings. Vanity of vanities all is vanity, or nothing of nothingness. Qohelet speaks of work and toil is vanity, there is no point to all that we do or believe, essentially saying prove me wrong. However, the psalms say otherwise, in that calls us to live this life and He shows us the way. To ulitmately think of what is above as St. Paul tells the Colossians, and put to death things that are earthly keeping us away from Christ since we are new creation in Him whom we believe through the Sacriment of Baptism. In the Gospel, theres the classic fued of one brother desiring what the other brother has in possession. Jesus response is interesting "who appointed me to be your judge and arbitrator?" and continues life is more than possessions. the parabel reflects on a rich man whom had more than plenty and stored up harvests so that he can rest and enjoy but eventually forgot about what is above. Its familiar, more like a king in the old testament whom has incredibly wealthy and stored up his wealth in big storage houses. He had forgotten about riches that matters to God.

XV Domingo ordinario Deut 30, 10-14 Salmo 68, 14 y 17. 30-31. 33-34. 36ab y 37 Col 1, 15-20 Lc 10, 25-37 En las lecturas de este domingo, discutimos los mandamientos en un nivel más profundo. La primera lectura, viene del libro de Deuteronomio, donde Moisés habla a la gente sobre lo que es el mandamiento. Él les dice que siempre ha estado con nosotros, en realidad, mucho más cerca de lo que pensamos. Aún más, este mandamiento no es misterioso, ni una idea elevada, sino una realidad viva. Los salmos reflejan de una manera nuestra disposición interior a ser escuchados, a ser conocidos, a estar en comunión con los demás y, en definitiva, a Él. En la segunda lectura, San Pablo escribe una carta a los Colosenses que les revela "el secreto". En este momento, los colosenses eran una comunidad que tenía falsos profetas que pensaban que sabían "los secretos" de la vida y que solo ellos podían saber porque estaban iluminados para conocer a "dios". Sin embargo, San Pablo les dice que Jesucristo es la imagen del Dios invisible. Que TODAS LAS COSAS son creadas de Él; Jesucristo es el primogénito de toda la creación. Él es aquel en el que todo se mantiene unido como cabeza del cuerpo, la Iglesia. Entonces, todas las cosas son reconstruidas a través de Él desde la Cruz. El Evangelio, una vez más, repite el mensaje de Moisés a Israel. In the readings for this Sunday we discuss the commandements in a deeper level. The first reading, comes from the book of Deuteronomy where Moses speaks the people about what is the commandment. He tells them that its always been with us, actually, much closer than we think. Even further, this commandment is not mysterious, nor a lofty idea, but a live reality. The psalms reflect in a way our interior disposition to be heard, to be known, and to be in communion with others and ulitimately Him. The second reading, Saint Paul writes a letter to the Colossians revealing to them "the secret". At this time, the Colossians were a community that had false prophets who thought they knew "the secrets" of life and that only they could know because they were enlightened to know 'god'. However, Saint Paul tells them that Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. That ALL THINGS are created from Him; Jesus Christ is the firstborn of all creation. He is the one in which everything is held together as head of the body, the Church. So, all things are reconiled through Him from the Cross. The Gospel, again, repeats Moses message to Israel. In similar sense, Christ speaks the commandments, but notice that the scholar of the law takes it one step further, he speaks to justify himself by his question "who is my neightbor?". Jesus provides the parable, the scholar answers correctly, the one who is in need of mercy. Jesus like Moses, says go and do like wise because its already in your mouth and your heart.
