Descripción

In this episode of Late Nights with Reem, I cover everything from the upcoming Teena Marie biopic to Power Origins and a new Paid in Full series while calling for better, more diverse Black stories beyond crime culture. I also get into a Harlem man being overcharged rent for 20 years, Kentucky’s drop in divorce rates tied to 50/50 custody, and a wild story about a man demanding his kidney back from an ex. Then we tap into Home Depot’s push for corporate workers to experience retail life, and close out with music talk celebrating Justin Timberlake’s “FutureSex/LoveSounds” and honoring Mac Miller, gone 7 years too soon.

From Hall of Fame to Red Flags & Squatters

This week on Late Nights with Reem, we dive into a mix of major headlines and hard truths covering everything from sports legends to dating missteps. We start with the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame class and give props to the newest inductees. Then we move into Texas’ new law allowing homeowners to bypass eviction court delays to remove squatters a long-overdue move. I also break down San Francisco’s new idea to base speeding ticket costs on income, and why that might sound good in theory but messy in practice. Frontier Airlines is back with their “GoWild” pass $300 for unlimited flights but of course, there’s fine print. Next, we discuss the story of a former South Sudan soldier turned millionaire who suddenly caught the attention of the feds. Why does success get suspicious when it comes from unexpected places? We wrap things up with a viral dating story one man faked not being able to pay the dinner bill just to “test” his date. I use that to dig into a bigger issue: the need for people to be more transparent and intentional when dating. Stop leading with your pockets or your privates lead with purpose.

The 37 U & Musical Youth

This week on Late Nights with Reem, I touch on everything from flag football to food stamps because life really be doing the most. We kick things off with the 37 & up football league and why some of y’all old heads need to sit down before you mess around and get hurt for real. Then I break down the wild story of a man hitting the lotto jackpot right after his divorce—timing is crazy! We also look at the impact of the Target boycott and the recent resignation of their CEO, as well as Spotify’s new DM feature (yes, you might actually be able to message your way back into bae’s life even if you’re blocked 👀). Then I get into Jermaine Dupri’s recent comments on how there's no real “teen music” anymore, and I expand on how we’re seeing less and less teen-focused media as a whole. Finally, we wrap with a story out of Michigan—where a woman is in trouble for using her benefits to sell plates. And honestly? It was a hustle… just not the legal kind.

Check Ya Bags & Respect The Law

This week on Late Nights with Reem, we cover everything from school policies to music legends and random chaos in between. I kick things off with some back-to-school talk—starting with my shock that Ohio schools don’t use metal detectors, followed by Tennessee wildin’ by refusing to accept doctor’s notes for student absences. New Jersey took it up a notch, now threatening parents with $2K fines or 90 days in jail for their kids acting up. Make it make sense. Meanwhile, Detroit rapper Big Huey catches a cease and desist mid video shoot, and the owner of Trump Burger gets deported (you can’t make this stuff up). Ohio’s also rolling out a new ban on porn sites—another one of those “hmm…” moments. Over in China, adults are apparently coping with stress by buying $70 pacifiers (yes, you read that right). To wrap it all up, I dive into this week’s music segment, spotlighting Michael Jackson’s Off the Wall album, Wale’s More About Nothing mixtape, and showing love to the late Nipsey Hussle.
