Portada del episodio #7 - Losing Control of AI

Descripción

On this week's episode of the Legal Chaos Podcast, Nick and Tony continue their conversation of technology's interactions with the legal system. The two discuss a local story about Flock cameras here in Dayton, Ohio; the Georgia prosecutor who was recently disciplined after submitting court documents consisting of various AI hallucinations in a murder case filing; Congress's extension of section 702 of the FISA act; the privacy issues concerning your conversations with chatbots; and the use of facial recognition in relation to biometric privacy concerns. It feels like the legal system is losing control of technology and could lead to very serious deterioration of our civil rights as American citizens in the future. Join us for another episode of news, analysis, and culture through a legal lens.

#8 - Deception, Predisposition, and Manipulation

What is the difference between deception, predisposition, and manipulation? On this week's episode of the Legal Chaos podcast, Nick and Tony take a step away from the technology world to look at some more traditional real world cases. There was big news in the Alex Murdoch case as his appeal for a new trial succeeded after it was discovered that the clerk of courts had influenced the jury in his conviction. A Miami University senior was arrested for felony drug possession following a month long investigation involving his mail being tracked and searched with drug dogs. In Baton Rouge, police answered the phone of an apprehended individual and pretended to be him to arrange a black market business deal while filming it for their own television show. Many have labeled this interaction as entrapment, but as discussed on this week’s episode, it doesn’t quite fit the bill. Finally, they analyze some real world criminal liability disclaimers; when they work and when they don’t.
