In this episode with Abigail Hammond, we discuss her roots and how she uses costume in her dance, the importance of conversation and at the end we dig into a few materials that you can begin playing with on your body. Abigail has a background in dance at Dartington College and went on to become a contributing voice in exploring dance-costume relationships within the UK. She has further explored the use of material, particularly in relation to her own body and her own story - the peri-menopause. Within this 25 minute mini-episode, I try a new format, in which I sit down and discuss three things: a thought, opportunity and exercise. I hope that these will provoke some thoughts in regards to creativity as well as give you a simple action to take right now for your artistic journey. I am Billy Maxwell Taylor, an interdisciplinary movement practitioner who facilitates creativity through curiosity, playfulness and athleticism. I also run this podcast! In this DEBUT episode (party poppers), I sit down over Zoom with Sean Hollands and we discuss how you can use gaming as a stimulus, the benefit of a disciplined and playful space and how we can work around the parameters of Covid-19. We also brainstorm an idea for a show. For this section (around 20 minutes onwards) there is a TRIGGER WARNING as we discuss suicide, domestic abuse and violence (all in relation to comic books).
