This episode marks the beginning of season two of “Life Unscripted!” Podcast host Alix Kendall celebrates the new season by bringing back her very first guest of the podcast, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey. You may know Mayor Jacob Frey from his fired up speech telling ICE agents in Minneapolis to “get the Fu*k out of here.” This was in January 2026 as things were amping up during “Operation Metro Surge.” Minneapolis was showing the world how to push back against the Trump administration’s federal law enforcement operation, and he was the face leading the charge. This is a look back of some of the key decisions that were made in responding to ICE agents, including criticism of the Minneapolis Police Department, and its Police chief Brian O’Hara. (This interview was recorded BEFORE MPD Police Chief O’Hara resigned after allegations O’Hara interfered in an investigation involving his alleged sexual misconduct.) MELINDA VOSS is one of the state coordinators for BRAVER ANGELS MINNESOTA. She retired from the Des Moines Register and Tribune after 26 years as a reporter, and has taught journalism at three universities. She leans BLUE. SCOTT SCHLUTER is also a Co-coordinator of BRAVER ANGELS, and has been a member since 2018. He leans RED. The two met years ago, through a mutual friend when Maria Isa’s career as a performer was taking off. He has a name you don’t forget, whose unique ability to rally people together for the greater good, did not go unnoticed by “Pivot,” a podcast hosted by veteran tech journalist, Kara Swisher and NYU Professor Scott Galloway. Galloway initiated #resistandunsubscribe, a consumer activism movement aimed at encouraging people to vote with their dollars AGAINST large tech companies contributing to the #iceagents takedown of people in Minnesota, and citizens across the country. The two together spitballed the idea of having a fundraiser in #mpls to help people impacted by #ice raids who need legal assistance. Who ya gonna call? TANE DANGER!
