Episode 008: UFOs Over Wanaque, NJ
Since our ancestors gazed upon the stars millions of years ago, the question of if we were alone in the beautiful abyss was instilled in our evolution. And, as we evolved, our minds grew, our technology advanced and our search for answers continued. We went from thinking we were the center of the universe with the sun revolving around us (and thrown in jail if said otherwise) to realizing we were not the center, and mathematically solving that our universe is endless. And of recent news that I thought went over a bit too well was, “Oh, those UFOS you’ve been seeing in the skies? Well we call them UAPs now (Unidentified Ariel Phenomena) and yes, they are real, and no we have no idea what they are." And as Scully once stated in one of my favorite TV shows of all time, “Yes Mulder, the truth is out there, but so are lies” we know not all documented sightings are truthful, but the ones given by credible, scared, and confused people, and even more so by many people, the sightings become more interesting. Like today’s story, when a UFO decided to visit the rural town of Wanaque, NJ, throwing the town into a panic.
Episode 007: The Cursed Woods of Dudleytown - Cornwall, CT
As children, we all seem to go through a phase of being scared of the dark. Even at a time when we were fearless of the things we’re most cautious of as adults, there was something about the darkness that just…got to us. Whether it be your half-opened closet door, the darkened area under the bed, or the uninviting woods at night in your backyard - it kept us on edge because, well, that’s where the monsters hid. I would say that, in most cases, it is probably your imagination but, there are some places where a monster may be looking back at you. Perhaps,a bigfoot, a murderer, or, in our case today - the souls of the cursed and damned.
Episode 006: Flooding the Sins of the Past - Lake Lanier, GA
If you spend any time in or around Atlanta, you’ve probably heard ghostly tales of Lake Sidney Lanier. There are eerie accounts of fishermen seeing ghostly kayaks floating on the water, phantom lanterns, and, most famously, a woman with no hands roaming the Jerry D. Jackson bridge. And - every so often, someone - unfortunately - loses their life at the lake and leaves behind stories of strong swimmers being snatched under the water, unexplainable boating accidents, or vehicles crashing into the lake without cause. And when you begin to uncover the horrifying past that now lies at the bottom of the reservoir, it's no surprise this cursed lake has taken over 700 lives.
Episode 005: Zombie Road - Wildwood, MO
You don’t have to travel too far outside of St. Louis before you come to a relatively untamed region of dark forests, rivers, caves... and legend. And, it is here, near a bend in the Meramac River, that you can find one of the most sinister stretches of lore-named roads in the country, a hotbed of history and urban legends that are all rooted in some gruesome truth.
Episode 004: Turnbull Canyon - Whittier, CA
