DK’s anchor has always been music — sounds just make perfect 'scents' in her world.Having navigated 18 demanding years in the fast-paced tech industry, DK found solace,stillness, and purpose while practicing / teaching mindful meditation. Botanical exploration and herbal medicine-making emerged as a natural extension of DK's own quest for healing, which led her to study complementary modalities under the Mind-Body Transformational Psychology program at the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts (Tempe, Arizona). While earning certifications as a clinical Aromatherapist and Reflexologist in a traditional therapeutic setting, DK transcended the curriculum from her own inner-sanctuary. Olfactory memory became a mode of transportation. DK's unique ability to bottle experiences and make music smell good left lasting reverb on her classmates, instructors, and musician friends alike. By blending her synesthetic intuition and passion for innate healing with a life-long orientation towards serving others, Es•scent•ial Sensory Remedies was born, and DK's Koncoctions came to be. The holistic approach DK takes to healing as an art ensures individualized care, attention, and attunement. In every endeavor — be it orchestrating a sensory experience, walking with others towards self-advocacy, dream-weaving within the collective, or translating a signature symphony of smells — DK stands proud as a creative vessel.
