This is one of the toughest stories I’ve had to do during my time at KOHD. It’s about a daughter’s quest to find her missing diabetic father. I joined her in a Bend field while she talked to neighbors and searched for her 61-year-old father.

It was quite the spectacle! Former President Bill Clinton came to Bend to campaign for his wife, Hillary. Thousands lined up at Bend HIgh School for the chance to see him speak. Unfortunately, thousands were turned away. It was an amazing experience for me, though. I was standing 20 feet away from the president during his speech.

There is probably nothing more disturbing than people trying to abduct children right out of their own neighborhoods. This is an exclusive story with a girl who was confronted by a stranger in Redmond, OR. This girl’s quick thinking may have saved her life.

The Deschutes River is a very popular place for summer recreation in Bend. However, rafting, kayaking and other water activities are interrupted by the Colorado Street Dam, causing injuries and even claiming lives over the years. Those who want to enjoy the river must get out and walk around the dam at that point in the river. The Bend Parks and Recreation District is looking to solve the problem by reshaping the river to make it one continuous trip.

The roads are pretty nasty across Central Oregon this time of year. The snow and the ice makes for some tough travel. Temperatures are warming up, and now the city faces a new problem -- flooding. All of that snow and ice is melting and has nowhere to go.
