it's been a minute, but we're back (and better!) on the second episode of 'makings of Us', we're in the studio for the FIRST time with a near and dear sisterfriend, Chantel, also known as Grada love. On this episode, we discuss our experiences and takes on religious trauma, the importance of safety in relationships, and how it ties into our art. From both of our experiences of emotional abuse, it's been important to hold this space for ourselves, as well as for each other ❤️ Also, stay tuned to the end for an impromptu poem by Lexi, for the culture lol! 'restoring our faith + shifting our shame' w. imani adrea 💕

wow.. it's the first episode!? I'm so excited to be HERE: on the other side of turning this idea into a reality. I'm here today with imani adrea-- one of my closest sisterfriends who I can literally talk to for days on end. we have both shifted on our individual and collaborative journeys in womanhood, but I swear, sometimes we share the same heart. on this first episode, we discuss our how shame has defined our womanhood, rebuilding our relationships with God, and with ourselves. We also talk about the acceptance component when it comes to forgiveness. as women, we carry so much on a daily basis. shame is something we tackle everyday, and learning how to better perceive our stories will grant us so much compassion and self love.
