EP 7. ZURAINA ZAHRAIN- ECOLOO In this episode, we sit down with ECOLOO founder, Zuraina Zaharin, to discuss the future of sustainable plant fertilisers and how a journey up Mount Everest led her to building her very own startup. That was when she decided to initiate ECOLOO. Based on Swedish technology, ECOLOO is a patented eco-social innovation toilet system that is odourless, waterless, sewage free, energy free, and maintenance free. It employs bacterial culture to treat the waste and create organic fertilizer that is pathogen free yet rich with nutrition. It is affordable, beneficial, biological, durable, ecological, economical and ergonomically designed for comfort, health and safety; it comes in various designs and shapes i.e. standing (urinal), sitting, squatting or both for indoor and outdoor; rural or urban areas, terrace houses to high rise buildings, and it is suitable for all purposes in any weather conditions. EP 4. CHOON WAH HOO, NGOHUB DIRECTOR In Episode 4 of the MasSive Podcast series, we sit down with NGOhub director, Choon Wah Hoo, to discuss the future of Non-Profit Organizations in Malaysia, the importance of Impact Driven Enterprises (IDE), and his pioneering effort to consolidate and provide a platform for NGOs in within the country. An online and offline platform dedicated to enable, empower and serve NGOs, NGOhub champions effectiveness, transparency and sustainability. The organization prides itself on connecting NGOs to information, resources, experts, volunteers and grants. Above all, they have connected NGOs to each other, to inspire collaboration to solve society’s problems together. By hitting the nail on the head, Wah Hoo points out that the most neglected problems faced by society are not those engaged by corporations or governments, but by NGOs. He enthuses that for all their efforts, most NGOs struggle to achieve their missions because they lack proper support, finances, resources and recognition. While corporations establish trade unions, form partnerships and hold conferences for building sustainable and effective organisations, NGOhub has identified that NGOs struggle in isolation, and are heavily dependent on donations and fluctuating public interest.
