Victoria McLeod has a full and happy life. After retiring from teaching high school history, Vicky stays busy volunteering with the Historical Society, is active in the Mountain Town community, and loves socializing with friends. Mountain Town: Lula

Right now, Lula really needs a friend, not an enemy. As if starting a new job and mourning her grandma’s death isn’t stressful enough, the Bar C Ranch Cook seems to have it out for Lula. Juan criticizes her work, accuses her of stealing, and calls her names in Spanish- which he knows she doesn’t understand despite their shared Mexican heritage. Mountain Town: Travis

Always a friend, never a lover- Travis finds himself in the dreaded friendzone when Lacy agrees to go out with Jake. He learns valuable lessons from the loss, including the importance of standing up for himself, not sacrificing what he wants for unworthy people, and setting and keeping boundaries. Mountain Town: Travis

Travis is a nice guy: approachable, a good listener, has strong morals, and is so ready for a committed relationship when feisty farrier Lacy Doyle shows up at the Bar C ranch. Travis isn’t the only one with eyes for Lacy. Cocky cowboy Jake proposes a challenge to see who can get the girl. Jake pulls out all the stops, gaslighting, emotional blackmail, using flattery, triangulation and withholding information to manipulate others. Meanwhile, Travis does every “nice” thing he can think of. He shows up for Lacy in ways Jake won’t. And it doesn’t seem to get him anywhere.
