Most iPhone users have set up Focus modes to silence notifications — but almost nobody scrolls past "Allowed Notifications" to find the "App Filters" section underneath it. That's where Focus Filters live in iOS 26, and they do something completely different: they change what content you actually see inside apps when a Focus mode is active. Turn on Work Focus and Mail shows only your work inbox. Safari switches to your designated work tab group. Messages hides every conversation except the ones assigned to that context. It's not about filtering pings — it's about changing the surface of the app itself. This episode explains how Focus Filters work, how to set them up in Settings → Focus → App Filters, and the two things to sort out before you rely on them for real.
