Descripción

Cec and Row were naughty bunnies this week and conveniently forgot that this podcast is actually called the No Books Book Club, and both brought books to discuss. We have a yarn about Mad Mabel by Sally Hepworth, which got on Row's radar via the Birds of a Feather book club. Cec has been reading Do We Deserve This? by Eleanor Elliott Thomas. We also touch on the wisdom that comes with age and the rapidly growing Women's Sheds movement. Finally, the Moan Zone is jettisoned for reader suggestions and we managed to stay on theme with a discussion about 'poo balls'. Hosted and produced by Rowena Murray and Cecelia Ramsdale. Proudly part of the Broad Radio family. The nostalgia ep: meat paste, Jaws (the book), Jackie Collins and more

Welcome to the NOSTALGIA episode. Starting with filter coffee and fish paste, Cec and Row moved swiftly into shame food, Flowers in the Attic, Jaws (the book, not the movie) and Jackie Collins, plus we look at repair cafes and the need to have a bit of love for analogue life, and into the pricing shitshow that is major airports. Procrastination, Beasts, Vampire Puzzles, Bad Eyebrows and Bitch Barns

Row and Cec enter a new Women's Shed, Bitch Barn, She Shed (whatever takes your fancy), then promptly get sidetracked by Clare Dane's latest, The Beast Within. Then we look at literary puzzles by kicking things off with Bram Stoker's Dracula, then the Moan Zone takes us from bad eyebrows to procrastination. Random, much? Yes, and it's just how we love it! The Mother of All Calamities, Jon Hamm, V-line and cats vs dogs

Are cats better than dogs? And can cats be trusted to give snuggles? Cec is on the fence about getting a new furry friend. We then deep dive into the fine art of writing books, as special guest NEW AUTHOR YAY Lisa Moule was deep in the trenches of writing her second novel. We're re-upping this episode from 2026 because Lisa's brand new book, The Mother of All Calamities, has just come out with Allen and Unwin. Go get a copy! Finally, Row has some advice for people wanting to travel to regional Victoria via V-Line (do it!) and Cec talks about Jon Hamm's new TV series, Friends and Neighbours.
