After a nearly year-long wait, you're favorite podcast about reviewing one-hit wonder albums is back in "One-Hit Wonder Why?"  In episode 10 we're looking at the year in music of 1983 and how it was a turning-point in the way people consume music, mainly in MTV and the different genres and artists that were born out of this era.  We'll then take a look at today's artist in reggae superstar Eddy Grant and his 1983 hit "Electric Avenue." We'll break down the song, why it still stands the test of time to this day and why we still can't stop rocking down to this bop classic! We'll look at other songs like "Electric Avenue" that have uptempo beats with heavier lyrics attached to them and dissect why these songs are awesome! Then we'll also review the album the song is on "Killer on the Rampage" as well. We'll look at the Greenbaum's start in the music industry, the number-one hit in "Spirit in the Sky" and then review the rest of the songs off the album of the same name using the scientific scale of bops. Ep. 08: Rusted Root - “Send Me On My Way"

Ahoy hoy boppers! We're back after a long hiatus and we're super stoked! Episode eight brings us the 1994 smash-hit "Send Me On My Way" from world music group Rusted Root off of their When I Woke album. Put on your hemp necklace and finest pair of birkenstocks because we'll be exploring the history of jam bands and how Rusted Root came to be along with the heavy usage "Send Me On My Way" received in movies (hey Maltida and Ice Age fans!) We'll then review the rest of the tracks off When I Woke through a very scientific method of "bops" and see if there are songs that should be sprouted onto your playlist or songs that are withered at the vine (plant puns are hard!) Ep. 07: Tommy Tutone - “867-5309/Jenny”

Ahoy hoy boppers and welcome! Today's episode of One-Hit Wonder Why? we're covering the most famous telephone number song and one-hit wonder in "867-5309/Jenny" by the 80s rock band Tommy Tutone. We'll then review and rate the rest of the songs of the 1981 album "Tommy Tutone-2" and see if there are songs you should put on speed dial or songs that deserve to be blocked! Answer that ring boppers, lets get at it!

Ep. 06: The Cardigans - “Lovefool”

Ahoy hoy boppers! Dial-up that modem on version 3 of your AOL disc, ask Jeeves where it's at and fire up that N64 because we're going back to 1996! We're looking at the classic earworm "Lovefool" by the band The Cardigans off their album First Band on The Moon. We'll learn a little about the band then review the one-hit and rate the rest of the songs off the album. Listen as you will be surprised by a very awesome cover of a metal classic that is on here.
