Nina Beth Cardin, a proud native of Maryland, is the co-founder and director of the Maryland Campaign for Environmental Human Rights (MDEHR). She has been involved in environmental advocacy for more than fifteen years during which time she served as director of the national Coalition on Environment and Jewish Life; founded and directed the Baltimore Orchard Project for five years; served as chair of the Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, an organization dedicated to protecting and restoring the natural resources within the Chesapeake Bay watershed; and served as the Sustainability Consultant for the Central Maryland Ecumenical Council.

Frances Stewart, M.D. is a psychiatrist, integrative health coach, and retired U.S. Navy Captain. She has been a practicing physician for 38 years. She graduated from the West Virginia University School of Medicine and did her post-doctoral training at WVU and the University of Vermont. She has served on the faculty at the University of Vermont and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. She retired from her position at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence in Bethesda, MD in 2018 and continues to serve as a volunteer physician with the American Red Cross and the Maryland Medical Reserve Corps. She is continuing in her research work in collaboration with investigators from the Uniformed Services Universit, Harvard University, and Emory University. She also serves as a Climate Ambassador for Physicians for Social Responsibility and a Climate for Health Ambassador for ecoAmerica.
