Descripción

For centuries, many people in the Western world believed the Amazon to be an unpopulated and untouched forest. This has never been true. The Amazon has been managed by Indigenous peoples for thousands of years.  We explore how, through the creation of fertile soils and the selection and cultivation of plant and tree species over millennia, Indigenous peoples have transformed the Amazon rainforest into the most biodiverse ecosystem on Earth. We hear from Adriana Meirelles, who lives in Bristol but is Brazilian.  You can follow her Instagram here: meirelles7269

A cultural tipping point for climate and nature.

The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency. Yet most people have never been fully briefed on what it means for our lives, our economy and our future. This new film – The People’s Emergency Briefing - sets out the risks facing the nation - and the credible, positive responses available - in a clear and accessible account designed for screenings in communities across the UK.   As it is screened across the UK, audiences are invited to discuss the impact of the scientist's messages on them personally and what we should do to address climate change.   Map of where you can see the film in the UK: https://www.nebriefing.org/screening-map [https://www.nebriefing.org/screening-map] See the film Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tLUnWHkGG4 [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tLUnWHkGG4]
