Overcome and Live More
A lot of people have been taught to think about porn struggles in all-or-nothing terms. You’re either “fine,” “recovered,” or you’re an “addict.” That kind of language doesn’t reflect the wide range of experiences people actually have, and it definitely doesn’t explain how the habit forms or why it can feel hard to change. The words we use shape how we see ourselves, which is why I focus on describing the pattern, not defining the person. In today’s episode, I’m breaking down why these labels often feel restrictive, why they miss so much nuance, and why you don’t need to define yourself a certain way to start changing a habit. There’s a huge range of experiences when it comes to porn use, and when you understand that spectrum, the pressure to fit into one box starts to fall away. If you’ve ever hesitated to reach out for help because you’re unsure what to call your situation, or if you’re looking for a clearer, kinder way to understand your own patterns, this conversation will give you a new way forward.
