Pablo, Kristen & Dave
Minneapolis is burning, and we're trying to make some sense of it from our privileged little sanctuary from the mayhem.

The theme, if there is one in this meandering day-after-The-Oscars ramble, might be movies. And speaking of, check out the just-released video Pablo shot! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1DblOlQjpo
The Triumvirate Return!
After a 3-year hiatus, we've dusted off the equipment (and the dining room table) and started things up again. It's the usual ramble, but here are some things we referenced: -Article about hanging out: https://slate.com/culture/2023/02/hanging-out-sheila-liming-book-friendship-crisis.html [https://slate.com/culture/2023/02/hanging-out-sheila-liming-book-friendship-crisis.html] -Book about hanging out: https://www.amazon.com/Hanging-Out-Radical-Power-Killing/dp/1685890059/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3VZX4Q2Z2NUKN&keywords=hanging+out&qid=1677604745&sprefix=hanging+out%2Caps%2C124&sr=8-1 -DaVinci Eye app (drawing tool for smart phones) -Boys skating on an icy hillside at Lake Of The Isles: https://youtu.be/bs2GaRPLj4A [https://youtu.be/bs2GaRPLj4A] -Book Kristen highly recommends: https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/12/books/review/the-persuaders-anand-giridharadas.html [https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/12/books/review/the-persuaders-anand-giridharadas.html] -Stephen Wolfram on ChatGPT: https://writings.stephenwolfram.com/2023/02/what-is-chatgpt-doing-and-why-does-it-work/ [https://writings.stephenwolfram.com/2023/02/what-is-chatgpt-doing-and-why-does-it-work/]
PKD #19: Our first guest: Jim Clifford!
In Minneapolis and hereabouts Jim Clifford is best known as the bass player for The Wallets, a gone-but-not-forgotten band that was HUGE here in the eighties. He also happens to be one of mine and Kristen's dearest friends. But he's truly a man of wide travel, learning, and experience, and a great storyteller to boot. An hour is not enough time to even scratch the surface with Jim, but it's a start. Intro music is Listen To The Kid, a song Jim co-wrote for his New York band, Marbles, and outro music is a piano piece he wrote and performs called Bikes.
PKD #18
Minneapolis begins its transition to a new, fairer society. We hope.
George Floyd. Injustice, rage, fear, sadness, destruction, and it goes on and on...
