* Rod grew up on a farm in California. * The church at the time had big athletics. Rod played as as fast pitch softball and his team made it all the way to the championship. * As he played, his bishopric member gave long lasting lessons that carried into his life. * Rod served his mission in New Mexico and has kept up with speaking Spanish. * Rod was so good that he was going to play with a Baltimore team. He had hard decisions to make and his prayers were answered as time went on. * He loved physical education and majored in it during college. As much as he loved it, he had to figure out a career change * He ended up finding his passion in Physical Therapy. * Rod and Laura had Lisa. They were given advice to put her in a home due to having down syndrome. 6 kids later they feel that was the best decision to have in having more children. * With having 5 kids in the first 6 years of marriage life became busy but found solace and being center with family home evenings and reading the Book of Mormon. * He went back and forth between companies. He thoroughly enjoyed his last 20 years of his career working more in biomechanics. After 45 years of practice, he retired a few years ago. * Rod shares his story about how they moved to Tri Cities and how a prompting was acted upon under a decade later. * During his time in Tri Cities, he has had many callings including being a sealer. He describes his process of being called to a Sealer in the temple. * He finds Christ in everyday life through living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
