Pinays Without A Pause
As we close out AAPI Month, we bring an extra long episode this time! In this episode, we're talking weaving identity through activism, art, medicine, and engineering with Natalie Badillo. About Natalie: A proud Filipina and lifelong New Yorker, Natalie embodies a unique blend of passion for STEM, arts, and community activism. With a background in biomedical engineering and on a path toward becoming a physician, she is a visionary who integrates her multifaceted interests to forge innovative, interdisciplinary opportunities. Her ongoing research leverages human centered design thinking to improve products and processes in healthcare. Outside of science, she makes and sells jewelry through her shop, ShopNiNatalie, which pulls from her cultural heritage and her scientific expertise as inspiration for one-of-a-kind handmade pieces. She has taken on influential leadership roles within the local and national Filipino community, currently an active executive committee member of the Association of Filipino Scientists in America (AFSA) and NE Regional Coordinator for the Council of Young Filipino Americans in Medicine (CYFAM). She is active in advocacy efforts for quality healthcare, Filipino rights, and accessible medical technology, and she is deeply passionate about consuming and creating art, cooking for others, and finding ways to make people’s lives a little bit easier. * Natalie's Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/nootalie.b/] * Shop Ni Natalie [https://www.etsy.com/shop/shopninatalie] (+ Instagram [https://www.instagram.com/shop.ni.natalie/]) * Natalie's LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/in/ndbadillo/]
