episode Finding the Divine Mercy Image w/ Daniel diSilva artwork

Finding the Divine Mercy Image w/ Daniel diSilva

DiSilva founded the Original Divine Mercy Institute, a non-profit organization based in Texas, which produces high-definition replicas of the Original Image of Divine Mercy for veneration in churches and homes. He also leads Divine Mercy Tours, which take pilgrims to Vilnius, Lithuania, where the original image is venerated in a 24-hour shrine. Today, we talk about how Daniel ended up in a wildly successful Catholic Funk Band, Our Lady's role in inspiring him to start it, and how that journey ultimately led him to sleep beneath the original Divine Mercy image in a parish in Vilnius, Lithuania. episode Usury & The Culture of Death artwork

Usury & The Culture of Death

In this episode, Brian and Daniel discuss how usury is connected to the culture of death. We explore Brian's research on the topic and how it had infected the Church during the Reformation, which may be one of the leading reasons the Reformation happened. Brian traces this connection through history, including the Reformation's impact on usury, showing how economic pressures can drive choices like abortion. We discuss the societal effects, from personal debt to broader ethical dilemmas, illustrating how usury's legacy influences modern decisions. Brian is writing a book exploring the connection between usury and the culture of death. episode Ep. 15 The Immaculate Conception artwork

Ep. 15 The Immaculate Conception

Today we discuss some of the basic ideas around the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception. Mainly, is it reasonable to believe that Mary was immaculate, that is conceived without sin? Before my conversion, this was a problematic belief for me. Still, by God’s grace, this doctrine is clear and beautiful in how it completes our understanding of the Biblical Narrative. 🎙️ Ep. 10 - The Agony in The Garden

Today, we talk through the first part of a 5 part series on the Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary. Today’s discussion centers around the Agony in the Garden and how the Rosary helps keep us grounded in our faith and understanding of Scripture. 8 Then he said to them, “My soul is sorrowful even to death. Remain here and keep watch with me.” 39 He advanced a little and fell prostrate in prayer, saying, “My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me; yet, not as I will, but as you will.” 40 When he returned to his disciples he found them asleep. He said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour? 41 Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” 42 Withdrawing a second time, he prayed again, “My Father, if it is not possible that this cup pass without my drinking it, your will be done!” 43 Then he returned once more and found them asleep, for they could not keep their eyes open. 44 He left them and withdrew again and prayed a third time, saying the same thing again. 45 Then he returned to his disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? Behold, the hour is at hand when the Son of Man is to be handed over to sinners. 46 Get up, let us go. Look, my betrayer is at hand.” — Matthew 26:38-46 — To read the full article, click the image below Subscribe for free to receive new posts and support my work.
