Deepa talks to Sarat about the book "Before We Visit The Goddess", written by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni. The book is a tale of mother-daughter relationships across three generations. It is essentially a tale of loss and pain, while also being a chronicle of the women's respective journeys of triumphing over their circumstances. Note: This episode has spoilers.

Set in a fairy tale landscape, a strange and timeless place called Wanatolia, Habibi tells the story of two individuals - Dodola and Zam, both orphaned at a young age and brought together through chance, circumstances and shared misery. They grow up through the book and discover their love changing from that of a mother-child (as a provider-dependant) to siblings (as playmates) to lovers.
