We've spent Season 2 of Pod Theory debunking myths and misconceptions in the podcast space that could potentially trip you up. Now, it's time to wrap up the season with a simple questions: What should your #1 point of focus be with your podcast? More than likely, you're probably thinking it could be a number of different aspects. And while there are several important factors to keep in play, nothing is more important than providing your audience with that one little word that will keep them coming back for every episode you release, will keep them engaging with you on platforms outside of your podcast, and will keep them recommending your show to others. In Episode 136 of Pod Theory, Travis Brown and I put a bow on Season 2 by answering the aforementioned question and elaborating on some of the best ways to do it. Thank you for being part of the entire season! I look forward to reconnecting with you again when Season 3 is ready to rock and roll. Build Your Brand Through the Power of Podcasting! One of the biggest things podcasters are concerned about is growth. No matter how many listeners you may have, chances are...you want more. And why is that? Mainly because we believe the bigger the audience, the better the chance for monetization. Landing a big sponsor or advertiser is linked to audience size, so it makes sense. The funny thing is we get so consumed with getting more listeners who haven't shown up to listen yet that we neglect the ones who already have. It's crazy...and definitely a subject we could talk about for days on end. But let's keep the focus on growth. There are several ways to go about it...and they all point to bringing your listeners to another platform to engage with them. And, in addition to that, there's a very important approach to growing your audience that many podcasters overlook. On Episode 135, Travis Brown and I break down a few ways you can grow your audience. Additionally, we cover the big one...the strategy you need to move to the top of your priority list if you want to grow your audience exponentially. Hit that play button to learn more! Throughout Season 2 of Pod Theory, we've talked about various myths and misconceptions that plague podcasters in their attempts to bring the very best podcast content to life. At the same time, we've shared some tips, strategies, and advice for overcoming said myths and misconceptions and pointed you towards aspects that will truly drive the success of your production. Episode 133 is no different, because there are many people who start a podcast and expect fame to fall at their feet. SPOILER ALERT: That's not going to happen. People aren't going to just show up and listen to your podcast because you started one. You have to earn your audience's attention through consistent effort, focus on their listener experience, and valuable content that not only keeps them coming back for more, but gets them recommending your podcast to others. Today, Travis Brown and I will drop the hammer on the myth that podcasting leads to quick, instant fame. As we've spoke about earlier in Season 2, if you're looking for a get-rich-quick play, podcasting is definitely not the medium you want to explore. Build Your Brand Through the Power of Podcasting!
