DescripciĂłn

Michael Belton asked me to talk about Moral Injury
a “lesser known” (but probably “more lethal”) invisible wound than PTSD. So, we compare and contrast PTSD with Moral Injury to set the stage. Here’s the core of it Moral Injury feels different, because Moral Injury starts differently than PTSD. Whereas PTSD is a response to external “triggers” (you can remove yourself from the situation or avoid certain scenarios) Moral Injury goes with you. Moral Injury IS you. You’ve probably heard the saying "Wherever you go, there you are.” When the issue is “in you” (i.e., your conscience, your spirit), you can’t fight it or run from it. Key differences Note the key distinctions between the PTSD and Moral Injury: đŸ’„PTSD * Is a reaction to external threats * Takes the form of fight, flight, freeze, or fawn * Generally occurs when triggered đŸ«Ł Moral Injury * Is a response to internal “threats” * Takes the form of guilt & shame * May be constant— not just when triggered Again, Moral Injury is not PTSD, and PTSD is not Moral Injury.   Why it matters You must heal the KIND of hurt you have. If you don’t identify the kind of hurt you have and also implement the correct healing protocols for that specific wound, then— * The healing protocol will be ineffective * The hurt will remain * The injured person may feel “un-heal-able” * The injured person may reach the point of despair and “give up” For clarity, even though every “part” of you impacts the others (interdependent realization), hurts generally occur in the ways listed above. If multiple types of hurts are present, we must address each of them in their own way.    _________________ Links referenced See the GY6 resources, referenced here: www.GY6.online/FG Upcoming GY6 workshops = www.GY6.online/events [http://www.GY6.online/events]   Differences between PTSD and Moral Injury  Ten ways Moral Injury happens = https://www.gy6.online/blog/ten [https://www.gy6.online/blog/ten]  PTSD or Moral Injury = https://www.gy6.online/blog/MI [https://www.gy6.online/blog/MI]    Serve Ministries Website = https://serveministriesinc.com [https://serveministriesinc.com]  Become a certified chaplain = https://serveministriesinc.com/courses [https://serveministriesinc.com/courses]  Podcast / YouTube feed for Serve = https://youtu.be/HbVk4sQ608g?si=2z1hcqe-GXj55fkv [https://youtu.be/HbVk4sQ608g?si=2z1hcqe-GXj55fkv]  Other, related Access the Soul Wholeness video course = www.Jenkins.tv/SWV [http://www.Jenkins.tv/SWV]  Grab the digital bundle (eBook + audiobook) = www.Jenkins.tv/SW [http://www.Jenkins.tv/SW]  Coaching One-to-one personal coaching = https://www.jenkins.tv/PC [https://www.jenkins.tv/PC]

45 | 😎 Three awesome (and weird) therapies that actually work

Beau Armistead, the founder and Executive Director of Sojourn Counseling, gave me a quick whirlwind / 30,000 foot overview of three awesomely odd (but helpful) healing modalities. We talk about— 👇   1ïžâƒŁ EMDR / Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing — super-effective therapy that alleviates (and even eliminates) traumatic distress by using bilateral stimulation

and mimics what your brain does while you’re in REM / Rapid Eye Movement sleep.   2ïžâƒŁ Brain Spotting— — a deep dive (i.e., if EMDR is snorkeling, this is scuba diving) into specific areas of distress, based on WHAT & WHERE hurtful / harmful memories are stored

sometimes, it creates a “spot” on the brain. If we can find that PLACE, we can heal the “stuff” that’s there.   3ïžâƒŁ Micro-current Neuro Feedback (MCN) — a means of rebalancing the brain through small electrical currents (i.e., think: whereas drugs / pharmaceuticals provide chemical relief, most of the issues in the brain are electrical
so, often, what we do is the equivalent of calling in a plumber when we really need an electrician. Turns out, your brain is neuroplastic. It can be rewired. And, in the same way it can be rewired based on hurts, it can also be rewired based on healing
   ❀‍đŸ©č❀‍đŸ©č❀‍đŸ©č For clarity

I’m not trained or licensed in ANY of those. I’m a teacher, a communicator
Beau is the pro in counseling / therapeutic arena. So, I learned into his wisdom / experience to relay what we could acquire and pass on. _______________ Links referenced See the GY6 resources, referenced here: www.GY6.online/FG [http://www.GY6.online/FG]  Upcoming GY6 workshops = www.GY6.online/events [http://www.GY6.online/events]  The “Best of” Soul Wholeness, free audio = www.Jenkins.tv/best [http://www.Jenkins.tv/best]  Access the Soul Wholeness video course = www.Jenkins.tv/SWV [http://www.Jenkins.tv/SWV]  Coaching One-to-one personal coaching = https://www.jenkins.tv/PC [https://www.jenkins.tv/PC]    Links to Sojourn Counseling ⭐ https://www.sojourncounseling.org [https://www.sojourncounseling.org]  ⭐ https://atease.org [https://atease.org]

episode 44 | đŸ—„ïž The wadded paper on the filing cabinet artwork

44 | đŸ—„ïž The wadded paper on the filing cabinet

My friend Beau went to college and studied psychology, and a few jobs and other pursuits
and then, through some of his experiences (shared in this podcast) went back to study trauma and get the credentials to help others at the highest level possible. Why? Because a lot the people we encounter carry hurts we never see. And, we always live in the present based on our experiences of the past
👇 I sought his wisdom because my goal is to bring together info that is: 🙏 Scripturally solid 🧬 Scientifically accurate 🧐 Simple to understand & apply   All three of those lanes matter. If it’s not Scripturally solid, it has no foundation. If it lacks scientific accuracy, it’s stale and irrelevant. If it’s not easy to access and apply
it loses its purpose. đŸ€·â€â™‚ïž   So, in light of those three

and in light of wanting to help others find soul and spirit healing

I talked to a counselor. In this episode (and the two that follow) I relay some of what he shared.     _______________ Links referenced See the GY6 resources, referenced here: www.GY6.online/FG [http://www.GY6.online/FG]  Upcoming GY6 workshops = www.GY6.online/events [http://www.GY6.online/events]  The “Best of” Soul Wholeness, free audio = www.Jenkins.tv/best [http://www.Jenkins.tv/best]  Access the Soul Wholeness video course = www.Jenkins.tv/SWV [http://www.Jenkins.tv/SWV]  Coaching One-to-one personal coaching = https://www.jenkins.tv/PC [https://www.jenkins.tv/PC]    Links to Sojourn Counseling ⭐ https://www.sojourncounseling.org [https://www.sojourncounseling.org]  ⭐ https://atease.org [https://atease.org]

43 | 🛟 Where is the life?

Continuing the previous conversation (about SOZO) we outline TWO MORE things Jesus provides
đŸ§© A new pattern ⚙ A new purpose   Both are linked to SOZO, to total salvation and redemption
🍀   So what do they mean together? Quite simply this

we’ve been pulled OUT of the old pattern and placed into a new pursuit of purpose. 👇   And, we don’t merely look to the “proof” of God’s blessings in tangible ways (only) we seek His presence

 knowing that the blessings come

and come not only for the benefit of ourselves BUT ALSO for the benefit of others.     _________________ Suggested next steps Access the Purpose book (eBook + audiobook) = https://www.jenkins.tv/purpose [https://www.jenkins.tv/purpose]  The Kingdom 101, book = https://amzn.to/4cnJfdJ [https://amzn.to/4cnJfdJ]  One-to-one personal coaching = https://www.jenkins.tv/PC [https://www.jenkins.tv/PC]    Past episodes, related to this one 🍀Sozo (previous episode) = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149196508 [https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149196508]  đŸ’„ Jesus = better at salvation than you are at sin, episode 31 = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149134008 [https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149134008]

episode 42 | 🍀 Sozo | comprehensive transformation artwork

42 | 🍀 Sozo | comprehensive transformation

When the New Testament speaks of being “saved,” it refers to far more than how we usually define the issue. Whereas we generally denote “saved” as the forgiveness of sins, the New Testament authors ( in fact, it’s “red letter,” so it’s taught be Jesus Himself), use the word SOZO, which means— 🙏 forgiveness 🛟 physical projection â›“ïžâ€đŸ’„ freedom from demonic oppression ❀‍đŸ©č physical healing đŸȘŠ raising the dead — and more.   Or, to say it another way, SOZO denotes the total coming of the complete Kingdom of God. đŸ’„   In this episode we talk about the pivotal role John the Baptist played (the last and greatest of the old covenant prophets), comparing his position with what Jesus proposed to be available now

and we walk though several stories from the book of Luke where Jesus not only DISCUSSES the message of the Kingdom but also DEMONSTRATES its manifestations. đŸ”„   _________________ Links referenced Video | Ten ways Moral Injury occurs = www.GY6.online/blog/ten [http://www.GY6.online/blog/ten]  Access the free Grace Basics audio = https://www.jenkins.tv/grace [https://www.jenkins.tv/grace]  The Healing Workshop, on-demand course = www.Jenkins.tv/THW [http://www.Jenkins.tv/THW]  The Kingdom 101, book = https://amzn.to/4cnJfdJ [https://amzn.to/4cnJfdJ]  One-to-one personal coaching = https://www.jenkins.tv/PC [https://www.jenkins.tv/PC]    Past episodes, related to this one đŸ’„ You might not need a miracle, episode 6 = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149079766 [https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149079766]  ❀‍đŸ©č Two kinds of healing, episode 36 = https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149187864 [https://www.jenkins.tv/podcasts/podcast-version-2-0/episodes/2149187864]    Other mentions Rob’s book, The Long Way = www.RiseUpOnline.info/TLW [http://www.RiseUpOnline.info/TLW]
