In Acts 5–7, we see the apostles boldly obey God despite opposition, and we witness the unwavering faith of Stephen, who stood for truth even when it cost him everything. Paired with the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3, this episode reminds us that God doesn’t always keep us from the fire—but He is always with us in it. Jesus tells us in Matthew 5:10–12 that those who are persecuted for righteousness are blessed. But what does that really look like in our everyday lives?
