Acerca de Primary Care in a Pandemic

In this podcast we look at the changes in primary care in British Columbia during the COVID-19 pandemic. We talk about ways primary care clinics can and are adapting in this crisis. Each episode we tackle a different topic from how to stay connected as a team to how to approach advanced care planning with patients. We try to keep things real and practical so you can apply these ideas in your practices. Brought to you by the University of British Columbia's Primary Care Innovation Support Unit in the Department of Family Practice.

S2 E12: Final Episode and TeamUP

This is our wrap up episode - or rather our TeamUP episode. We have decided, in the spirit of resilience, sustainability, and doing good work, to merge our two podcasts over at TeamUP - the content was going to be so similar this season that it made sense to take this opportunity This season of TeamUP focus on practical tools in primary care to support the adaptive capacity of the system. Please check out TeamUP at www.teamuppod.com and subscribe or follow in your favourite podcast app. Perhaps it is better to TeamUP than to just pod-fade away... Thanks for listening, Sarah and Morgan

S2 E11: immPACC: Helping communities reduce structural barriers to immunizations

In this episode we talk with our own Amanda Frazer about our own immPACC Mapping Project (immunization-Primary And Community Care Mapping). We get into the weeds a bit quickly because, well, we are very excited about how this tool is able to help communities engage in and accelerate local ideas to improve immunization uptake. If you want to see a short overview video that also give a visual of what the maps look like, we have a 5 min video on YouTube [https://youtu.be/XKI2oDH8axQ]: More information can be found online here in our COVID-19 Immunization Toolkit for Primary Care [https://covidtoolkit.ca/immunization-primary-and-community-care-mapping-immpacc/] We are also actively training facilitators to run immPACC sessions . S2 E9 - Flourishing in a Pandemic

How better to follow up our last episode (focused on languishing in the time of COVID) than to shift the focus to flourishing. In this episode Morgan and Sarah talk about the concept of flourishing. After a brief overview of flourishing measures, we focus on the activities provided on the flourishing.app website and how they may help support providers and patients . After a quick chat about current COVID state of affairs (and Star Wars day), we talk about "languishing" - a new term but one that we think fits really well and that we will hear more often. Then we dive into a few ideas we have on how we can help ourselves and our patients address feelings of languishing. Hopefully these are useful for you as well.
