Understanding Your Inner Territory: Patterns, Emotional Wounds, and Conditioning

People come to therapy because there are patterns in their lives that are not working for them. They are struggling with patterns that play out in romantic relationships, they find themselves frequently depressed or in emotional pain, they're anxious, or stuck in some other less-than-ideal pattern of emotion, thought, perception, or behavior. Patterns come from what you carry from the past meeting the conditions of the present. In this episode, we explore how what we carry from the past deeply shapes our experience of ourselves, others, and the world. We explore how emotional wounds, conditioning, as well as temperament and genetic factors shape our present day experiences. When you understand the burdens from the past you're carrying, pathways open up to shift these burdens and find more meaning and authenticity in your life, and to cultivate better relationships with yourself and others.
