Rasikananda Swami
This class, delivered by Rasikananda Swami (affectionately known as Rasik Maharaja), centers on the essential foundation of spiritual life: always remembering and never forgetting the Supreme Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa. He explains that all scriptural instructions—both recommended practices and prohibitions—serve these two principles, with special emphasis on the nine limbs of bhakti such as hearing, chanting, and remembrance. While glorifying the supreme importance of harināma-saṅkīrtana, he cautions that merely performing devotional activities is not sufficient if one neglects key prohibitions, especially offenses (aparādha), which can block spiritual progress even over many lifetimes. Through examples like Bharata Mahārāja and teachings from Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu, he highlights the necessity of a balanced, guided practice that includes sādhu-saṅga, humility, and careful avoidance of Vaiṣṇava aparādha. Ultimately, Rasik Maharaja emphasizes that sincere, offense-free devotion—nourished by both proper practice and proper conduct—is what allows the seed of divine love (prema) to truly awaken in the heart. This class was recorded at Mantra Central in Syracuse, NY on May 19, 2026.
