Mutiny on the Bounty led the charge for the rise of pirate movies?

Mutiny on the Bounty, 1936 best picture winner, has a star studded cast. While this movie is crazy close to being a pirate movie as it is one of the few we have seen so far that involves a mutiny, did it's critical reception lead to the rise of the pirate genre?

Is this SpongeBob Pirate Adventure a return to form? (SpongeBob: Search for Squarepants)

We finally got to watch a pirate movie in-theaters and it just happened to be one of our favorite childhood characters!

Is Captain Nemo secretly a pirate?

This month we got to watch 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and it was a ton of fun! We found out there used to be a themed ride at Disney World and Captain Nemo's ship, the Nautilus, might be one of the most unique ships to ever grace the silver screen.
