Today’s episode will discuss how Old Habits Die Hard and how this may create a distorted reflection of Jesus to ourselves and others. I want to BE candidly real with you and not gloss over the hardships and challenges I have faced as a believer in Christ. Many of my issues stem from my past and how my identity was fractured by abuse, negativity and poverty. I wrestle with inner vows of unworthiness, not being smart enough, not having any value, nor being pretty or thin enough, all of which caused me to develop deep insecurities. Today, I would like to share with you a little about my mother, Sylvia –of whom we affectionately referred to as “Smokes ‘N Cokes Granny.” She was a “no-nonsense” kind of person and spoke her mind without any filter, but she could invoke laughter that made you cry and your bellyache.  She loved fiercely and gave freely to help others.
