Descripción

May the 4th (this episode’s release date) be with you! In theme with Resting Brunch Face’s historical holiday observance patterns, here on Star Wars day we bring you, definitely not a Star Wars episode. On a podcast where we regularly revisit old favorites, Dr. Horrible offers us our greatest challenge yet. Does it hold up? Was the script ever self-aware of its own antihero? Is it an allegory for extremist politics? Do we remember all of the lyrics either way? Only one way to find out: put in those 'buds and listen. Eagle-eared fans (rabbit-eared?) will catch such highlights as Adam mispronouncing "Felicia Day" and never correcting himself, a deep-cut reference to the Sondheim musical Merrily We Roll Along, and Resting Brunch Face's first *post-credits* scene. Enjoy, and let us know what you think! Email us at show@restingbrunchface.net with any thoughts or inquiries. Please like, follow, comment, and review the show, and share with your friends!

episode The Last Unicorn (1982) artwork

The Last Unicorn (1982)

We complete our tour of formative childhood movies for the crew by visiting Liz's all-timer, The Last Unicorn, a lesser-known but terribly interesting animated film released in 1982. (To pre-empt one question we've already received: this is not to be confused with the film "Death of a Unicorn" from 2025...very different movie! In this one, the unicorn doesn't die, and that's kind of the whole point. Themes of immortality, and so on.) Listen in, and we guarantee the nimblest of possible transitions between contemplating the pain and depths of mortal existence and discussing whether a certain flesh-colored living tree is meant to be trapping a man between a pair of breasts or a pair of balls. This is the least-known film we've covered on the show to date, but we're glad to embrace variety. We do cover key details to help you follow along, and we hope it's still a good hang. (Bonus) March Mailbag + Twilight: New Moon

It's just like they always say: March comes in like a vampire and out like a werewolf. We were just bursting with extra content, needing to cover reactions and comments to two episodes (Jurassic Park and Heated Rivalry), plus, hey, we watched New Moon and we have some thoughts. So, here's our second bonus episode! Come for the stories behind our first PG-13 and R-rated movies, stay for the chill hangout vibes, the Canonical List of Timelessly Attractive and Non-Problematic Men, and Kirkland Signature Bulk Jorts. If you listen carefully, you'll also catch a hint of a "vampires suck" joke from Adam completely flop, to no reaction whatsoever from the other hosts, as if it never happened.
